88th Annual Assyrian National Convention 2021 Recap

On Labor Day weekend, the Assyrian American Cultural Organization amongst other affiliate organizations, and the Assyrian public; partook in the 88th annual Assyrian National Convention in Tucson, Arizona.

The weekend was filled with lectures, panel discussions, workshops, networking mixers, kids camp, art exhibits, bazaar, NabuTalks, youth summit, parties, and NEC meetings.

Amongst the amazing panel discussions and lectures, AACO of Arizona presented on the importance of the 2020 Census and Civic Engagement with Vote Assyrian and the Assyrian American Civic Club of Turlock.

AACO of Arizona was also presented with the Affiliate of the Year Award by the Assyrian American National Federation. This was a great honor for AACO of Arizona.

This convention was also an election year for the executive board of the Assyrian American National Federation. Voting took place by the affiliate organizations on Sunday morning and the following officers received their oath of office at the Presidential Banquet: President Ashor Chamoun, Vice President Alan Mooshekh, Assistant to the President Peter Warda, Executive Secretary Shamiran Echi, Assyrian Secretary Atouraya Bet Younadam, Treasurer Carolyn Odisho, and Advisor Martin Youmaran. Congratulations to the newly elected board of the AANF.
